What to Cook with Rice

Fried Rice (can be made with either cooked or uncooked rice)
As a base for any kind of meat or veggie sauce
As a base for cooked beans, peas, lentils - good topped w/ chopped raw onion
As a base for sauteed onion
Add to soups
Add cheese &/or cream soup to cooked rice to make a casserole for main or side dish
Cook, add butter, pepper & curry powder or other herbs/spices

What to Cook with Onions

Onion Pie
Onion Soup (creamy or clear)
French Onion Soup
Baked Onions
Oven-Roasted Veggies
Onion Sandwiches - surprisingly good, especially if you have a cold, preferably on rye
Sauteed or caramelized onions over rice
Omelet, scramble or frittata
Black-eyed peas (or other bean) over rice topped with chopped raw onion
Casserole using cream of mushroom soup - potatoes can be added, can put pork chops on top & bake

Flavors/Additions that work well with onions:
caraway
sage, pecans & balsamic vinegar
mushrooms
beef (meat, or just stock/bullion for flavor)
